Greetings Families:

Welcome back to another year at Vista del Sur Traditional School. We are very excited to start our third year as a traditional school. We have been working very hard this summer to make sure we continue in our pursuit of excellence. Teachers have been busy taking professional development classes in cooperative learning, Spalding 1, and Spalding 2. We have been busy adding five new positions this year to help with our increased enrollment of 665 students, and hiring replacements for the staff who have gone on to bigger and better things.

Please join me in welcoming our new staff joining us this school year:

  • Ms. Thompson, First Grade Teacher
  • Ms. Bessert, Second Grade Teacher
  • Mr. Weivoda, Third Grade Teacher
  • Ms. Warnica, Fifth Grade Teacher
  • Ms. Tetmyer, Fifth Grade Teacher
  • Ms. Grande, Sixth Grade Teacher
  • Ms. Novak, Seventh Grade Teacher
  • Ms. Andrew, Eighth Grade Teacher

I look forward to our continued time together to better the education of our students. I look forward to seeing everyone on Thursday, July 30, 2009 for the “Meet Your Teacher” event from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. And remember school begins on Monday, August 3, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. See you then!

Sincerely,

Jim Matthies, Principal
