The morning tutoring program is going well with eight teachers tutoring approximately seventy-five students three days a week. The Rotary Club has donated a student dictionary to each third grade student at the school. The students couldn’t wait to open them up and read them. The Lions Club donated flags to each of our first grade students as well as during a patriotic assembly. We want to thank these great community organizations for their continued support of our students. The soccer and volleyball season is over, and the basketball season is just beginning. Please come out and cheer our teams on. If you would like to support these programs financially at no expense to you, just come in and fill out a tax donation form in our office. If you have questions, feel free to talk to anyone in the office. They will be glad to assist you. Pick up and drop off continues to be hectic, but we are working on ways to help alleviate the congestion. Please continue to be patient and keep the speed slow around the school. Our priority is to keep all the students safe. Also as a friendly reminder, the Phoenix police are actively enforcing the speed limit around the school and the no parking in the dirt lot south of South Mountain Avenue. I would also like to remind parents and students to review their student handbooks. There have been many questions about rules and procedures that can be found in the handbook. The handbook is a valuable tool for parents and students when questions come up on student discipline, uniforms, grading, homework, and curriculum. As always, thank you all for your support of our school and our program. It is this support, teacher dedication, and student work ethic that is making our school a success. Sincerely,
Jim Matthies, Principal |
